Adele’s first tour of Australia is expanding to keep up with extraordinary demand for tickets.
The tour’s promoter Live Nation on Monday (Nov. 21) added a second date at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium on March 19 after the first show sold out in 35 minutes. Later in the day, LN added a second date at Brisbane’s Gabba stadium for March 5 after the first sold out in less than 30 minutes, a situation the concerts giant described as an “unbelievable and overwhelming level of demand.”
Adele’s Australia Live 2017 tour now stretches across seven dates, starting Feb. 28 at Domain Stadium in Perth and concluding March 19 at Etihad Stadium. The British superstar singer then skips the Tasman Sea for a one-off show at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on March 23, tickets for which go on sale this Thursday (Nov. 24).
The 28-year-old singer announced her first trip to these parts with a handwritten note posted to Twitter. “G’Day it’s me… I was wondering if after 10 years in the game you’d finally like to meet me in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide,” she wrote. “Yep! I am coming Down Under.”
