Fans of the previous two adidas King Push EQT colorways will be ecstatic to hear that a new “Grayscale” colorway has been revealed, almost one year after the previous black version’s release. In celebration of the new colorway, adidas Originals teamed with famed photographer Ari Marcopoulos for a photo project personifying the nature of the new EQT silhouette.
Featuring a clean and thought-provoking aesthetic, the photoset features Pusha T in a black and white photoshoot wearing a white tee, denim and the new “Grayscale” EQT on-feet.
“I wanted to do something simple and authentic but unique,” said Marcopoulus in explaining his creative process. “The process of shooting 8×10 photography is analog. What’s great about it is that you become very focused. It’s slow as opposed to smaller cameras where you can take many photos and choose later. 8×10 is very much editing on the spot. It forces the subject and photographer to collaborate and seize the moments that are most essential to the story. It really becomes a collaboration between subject and photographer. It takes concentration from both and that often results into an image unlike any other. It’s a zen-like experience.”
Shots of the new pair reveal that the upcoming EQT will feature a BOOST sole and ultraBOOST-inspired aesthetic, which will be exciting news for sneakerheads and collectors.
