App launching in SF gives you 30 fancy cocktails a month for a total of $9.99

An app called Hooch, which launched in San Francisco Tuesday, has a unique premise: pay $9.99 a month, and every day at 5 p.m., you’re prompted with the option to check out a new cocktail at a bar near you in San Francisco, for free.

If you like your happy hour libation, and your standard San Francisco cocktail costs $12, that’s a total overall savings of over $300 a month.

Here’s how it works: after opening the app, you enter your location, see which participating bars are near you, and then head in and imbibe in your daily drink. A new cocktail credit will become available the net day.

Hooch is already in over 10 cities, including Hong Kong, New York, Miami, Dallas, and more. The new San Francisco app currently works with swanky restaurants and bars including Canela, Maven, Farrallon, and The Sea Star (pictured), with more to be added.

With today’s launch, the app is also adding a new feature: refer a friend for $1 (getting yourself a free month in the process). With that, now you can hit the bar together.
