Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies Monday were investigating report of a robbery at an Exchange Bank branch in west Santa Rosa.
A man reportedly brandished a gun during the 1 p.m. heist at the Dutton Avenue bank near Sebastopol Road, according to dispatch reports. He was described as having a thin-build and wearing a dark blue buttoned-up shirt and a gray “beanie” hat. He was possibly a light-skinned Latino or black man, sheriff’s officials said.
The man wore a bandana over his face and brandished a semi-automatic handgun in the bank, according to preliminary reports.
The man left the bank with a maroon colored die pack and may have dye on him.
Officials asked people to avoid the area while law enforcement officers engaged in a search for the suspect, who was last seen fleeing on foot.
