Because of the source, we have to sit through fawning comments and annoying questions. However, that pays off in the form of behind-the-scenes footage of a gunfight, a peek at the Wellington, New Zealand, set, and a brief interview with star Scarlett Johansson.
Asked about moving from Black Widow to Lucy to now Major, the actress replied, “More than anything, I think, I want my daughter to feel comfortable taking risks and know that sometimes you fail, and when you win it’s awesome.”
The highest-grossing actress of all time – something “ET” neglected to mention between questions about her hair and the paparazzi – Johansson stars as Major, a one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, in the adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s cyberpunk saga. She’s the leader of Section 9, an elite task force devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists.
Directed by Rupert Sanders the film also stars Pilou Asbæk, Beat Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Kaori Momoi, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara and Tuwanda Manyimo.
“Ghost in the Shell” opens March 31, 2017.
