SINGAPORE – A car flipped on its side along the Central Expressway (CTE) on Tuesday (Nov 22) morning, causing heavy traffic along a 5km stretch of the expressway.
The accident happened on the CTE in the direction towards the Seletar Expressway, after the Jalan Bahagia exit.
At 12.29pm the Land Transport Authority, through its traffic news twitter account, advised motorists to avoid the first lane on the CTE, and said there was a congestion until the Merchant Road exit.
Photos posted to citizen journalism website Stomp showed other motorists standing around the automobile, a black sedan, apparently trying to push it back on its wheels.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the accident at 11.47am and dispatched an ambulance to the scene. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to a hospital.
The police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
