New York Knicks Surprise Army Veteran With Service Dog He’s Been Wanting For Two Years

In honor of Veteran’s Day, the New York Knicks honored United States Army Retired Sergeant First Class Luciano Yulfo, who served our country for 36 years.

Yulfo attended a Knicks game the other night, and All-Star Larry Johnson thanked the retired sergeant for his services, as well as gifted him with a custom jersey.

To make Yulfo’s moment in the spotlight even more memorable, the Knicks surprised Yulfo with a service dog, which he has been waiting to get for 18 months. Yulfo needed the service dog since he was injured on duty and was stationed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for two years.

He had been on the waitlist to get the service dog since then, but thanks to the Knicks, Yulfo’s wish came true sooner than he thought. With the help of Paws of War, Yulfo was given his service dog Murphy, who will provide him with unconditional love, but most importantly help him in the areas he needs it most.
