While working with animals at an animal shelter might seem like a dream come true, the sad reality is that animal shelter staff spend most of the day rescuing animals that have been abused and abandoned by heartless humans.

When the staff at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe in California got a call about a pit bull that had been brutally abused and left to die on a mountain, they rushed over to rescue her. Even though the odds weren’t good, they refused to give up on her in the hopes that they could give her the life she deserved. But, now, the amazing dog has surpassed everyone’s expectations…
