A rep for the Back Bay’s Rattlesnake Bar Grill says that the 26-year-old Boylston Street hangout is closing. The restaurant was a prime after-work spot thanks to its location and rooftop patio. In recent years, chef Brian Poe (the Tip Tap Room, Bukowski Tavern) oversaw an inventive menu of antelope tacos and wild boar burritos. As co-owner Tony Castagnozzi told the Globe in August, the “rattlesnake” name came to partner Gordon Wilcox in a dream while living in California in the 1980s, and for a while, the restaurant did indeed serve deep-fried snake. But soon, it will be but a memory. A definite farewell date has yet to be set.
