Would you pay more for a car than you did for your home?
Nearly 1,000 cars were up for auction in Dallas Nov. 2-5 at Mecum Auctions, and some went for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
(Of note: The 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO — one of 11 in the world and valued at over $1 million — does not have a new owner yet. It was one of the most coveted cars in Dallas at the Mecum Auctions this weekend and is still up for auction because it didn’t hit the minimum reserve sale price. It currently sits online with a $950,000 bid.)
Plenty of other classic muscle cars, Porsches, Ferraris and Maseratis turned heads and opened wallets. Here’s a look at the 10 cars that were sold for the highest prices at Mecum Auctions in Dallas in 2016:

Editor’s note: This story previously said more than 100 cars were up for auction. That was the number for one day; the whole weekend saw nearly 1,000 cars up for auction.
