If you have an iPhone that randomly shuts down, you might be in luck.
According to , Apple is offering free battery replacements to some iPhone 6s users due to a hardware malfunction that causes some devices to turn off for no reason.
But just because you own an iPhone 6s doesn’t mean that you automatically get a free replacement. According to a post on its website, Apple said that the issue “only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.” If you think your phone meets the criteria, head over to an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Engadget also reports that if you shelled out your own money to replace the battery, you can also get a reimbursement.
Phone malfunctions are never good, but hey, at least the phones aren’t exploding, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that had to be recalled. But this isn’t the first issue to plague iPhone users – “touch disease” also affected certain iPhone 6 and 6s device screens, causing them to be unresponsive.
