Being a well-known celebrity can be dangerous, and Taylor Swift unfortunately knows that well. In addition to handling her alleged sexual assault by a radio DJ, Taylor has been dealing with another nightmarish situation with a stalker.
Local Austin, Texas news stations are reporting that a man named Frank Andrew Hoover, 39, was booked on Thursday and placed on a $100,000 bond for violating a lifetime protective order against him from Taylor and her family. He’s accused of following Taylor Swift’s motorcade to the airport when she was in Austin for her concert last month and trying to get to her plane.
He’s also accused of sending Taylor’s father Scott frightening emails about Taylor. He also wrote about “random topics such as earthquakes, God, Satan’s lies, forgiveness, job opportunities and partnership,” according to a police affidavit. And in one September email, according to the affidavit, Frank said “Without [Taylor], I walk the earth alone forever and she’ll continue to experience failed relationships that break her heart.” KXAN also reports that, according to police, the emails escalated to contain threats of violence against Taylor and her family.
This is hardly the first (or second or third) time Taylor has had to deal with a stalker, and it’s scary stuff. We hope the arrest will help Taylor and her family continue to stay safe.
