After months of anticipation, the first full-length trailer for Disney’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast is finally here, and it’s every bit as wonderful as we’ve been imagining. Emma Watson stars alongside Dan Stevens, and it’s no surprise that when you pair those two with a tale as old as time (sorry, not sorry) and some downright magical modern cinematography, you get a product as mesmerizing as this.
Today’s teaser shows a general overview of the plot (nothing you wouldn’t be familiar with from knowing the fairytale prior) but it is really remarkable to see it all play out in live-action. As we’ve already guessed, this version is going to be pretty aligned with past ones.
However, what’s exciting about this one is that it’s the first time we’re seeing anything more than just a few shots of the castle and of course, the famous falling rose petals, as were featured in the first teaser trailer. This one shows us a variety of Belle’s lines, a dozen or so different sets, including the interior of the castle, what major characters like Mrs. Potts are going to look – and sound – like, and of course, the famous yellow dress dancing scene.
There has been so much talk surrounding the release of this film – between the new, feminist plot twists, the fashion, and fan complaints that Beast isn’t more handsome (?) there’s a lot to mull over before the release.
