Watch Sebastian Vettel hoon the LaFerrari Aperta

Four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel recently took time out from his busy schedule to test drive the Ferrari [NYSE:RACE] LaFerrari Aperta.

He starts out on the road but eventually heads to the track where, naturally, he turns off the car’s electronic nannies and manages to get it sideways.

The Aperta is the open-top version of the LaFerrari flagship. It made its debut at the 2016 Paris auto show and is being built in a limited run that will consist of just 209 cars, all of which are accounted for.

The car doesn’t feature a retractable hard-top roof like the 488 Spider. Instead, the LaFerrari Aperta features a manually-installed roof panel, available in carbon fiber as an option. Otherwise, the car is much the same as its coupe sibling, right down to its 950-horsepower, V-12-based hybrid system.

Deliveries are scheduled to commence in early 2017, the year Ferrari celebrates its 70th anniversary.
